Artificial Intelligence is reshaping how we work, communicate, and learn. While urban schools adapt rapidly, rural public school classrooms are at risk of being left behind. The AI Academy for Teachers was founded to bridge this digital divide by empowering the most critical pillar of the education system—our teachers.
Founded by Global Teacher Prize Winner Dr. Ranjitsinh Disale, this state-wide initiative is designed specifically for Zilla Parishad and government school teachers in Maharashtra. By conducting all training completely in Marathi, we eliminate language barriers, allowing teachers to master complex technology and confidently introduce safe AI practices to their classrooms.
"A teacher who understands AI is a teacher who can guide her students away from its distractions and toward its vast learning potential."
Our curriculum focuses on practical classroom applications, ethical safety, and human-centric pedagogy.
Teachers learn to use Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative tools to design rich lesson plans, customize worksheets for different grade levels, and generate quizzes in seconds—reducing administrative workloads.
Understanding the risks of AI is as important as using it. We train educators on digital privacy, copyright issues, bias in algorithms, and how to teach children to spot AI-generated deepfakes and misinformation.
All technology concepts, prompts, and interface explanations are taught in Marathi. We provide customized prompt engineering guides in the local language, ensuring no teacher is limited by English proficiency.
We believe in learning by doing. Every teacher is equipped with a digital device during workshops to directly create classroom slides, translate international resources, and design interactive learning companions.
Teachers learn to leverage AI to quickly analyze student test results, identify learning gaps, draft remedial lesson structures, and generate customized homework sheets tailored to different student performance levels.
Using AI tools to quickly generate progress reports in Marathi and communicate learning goals with parents. We teach educators to guide parents on creating safe, tech-healthy environments for children at home.
Our three-step methodology driving sustainable change in public education.
We train teachers on cutting-edge AI tools and provide hands-on opportunities to apply them directly in their classrooms.
We gather concrete, classroom-level evidence documenting how teachers adopt and integrate these AI skills in their daily teaching.
We present this empirical evidence to policy makers to help them design and implement scale-up plans for evidence-based policies.
At Zilla Parishad Primary School in Tembhurni, Mr. Pradeep Tandale, a primary school teacher, was struggling to create engaging English vocabulary materials for his multi-grade classroom. After attending the AI Academy, he learned how to use simple prompts in Marathi to generate custom bilingual storytelling prompts and level-appropriate comprehension checks.
"AI hasn't replaced my teaching; it has given me a personal assistant. I can now personalize lessons for 40 different children in my class, matching their unique interests and learning speeds," says Mr. Pradeep Tandale.
Stories like his are repeating across Solapur, Pune, Satara, and beyond, proving that with the right guidance, technology can be a powerful equalizer in public schools.
